Javier Zabala nasceu em León, na Espanha. Estudou Ilustração e Design Gráfico nas Escolas de Artes. Ilustrou mais de 70 livros, alguns dos quais ele também é o autor do texto. Seus livros foram traduzidos para 15 idiomas. Ilustrou textos de Cervantes, Shakespeare, Garcia Lorca, Rodari, Melville, Chekhov.

É professor de ilustração na Espanha e em países como Itália, Colômbia, Equador, México, Irã, Cuba. Seus prêmios incluem o Prêmio Nacional de Ilustração de 2005 e duas Menções Honrosas – Prêmio da Feira Internacional de Bolonha em 2005 e 2008. Foi finalista do Prêmio Andersen de 2012.

Final project for the catalog.

The best works will be selected and will make up an on-line catalog which we will introduce at the Shanghai Children’s Book Fair, the International Children Book Fair of Bologna and the International Children Book Fair of Guadalajara in 2024.

Javier Zabala was born in León, Spain. He studied Illustration and Graphic Design. He has illustrated more than 70 books, some of them written by himself. His books have been translated into 15 languages. He has illustrated texts by Cervantes, Shakespeare, Garcia Lorca, Rodari, Melville, Chejov. He teaches Illustration Workshops in Spain and countries such as Italy, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Iran, Cuba… His awards include the Spanish National Award in 2005 and two Honourable Mentions of the Awards of the Bologna International Children Book Fair in 2005 and 2008. It has also been a finalist of the 2012 Andersen Award.
